The cliché is that sex sells. And today, advertising has quite deliberately used women, and the sex-appeal of women, to lure men.

But there was a time when advertising used men, and their domineering presence at home, to lure women.

And while we look back at old advertising in disgust, it begs the question of how we’ll look back at the advertising of today.
