We found Tony on the corner of Broadway and Spring, holding up a sign that said “Will Work For Women.” The sign forced us to turn back, and check if we read it correctly. We had. Clearly this was a guy who felt that he had something to say, so we offered to listen.
Trying to agitate passerbys and strangers because he believes that "it’s better to feel some negative emotions" than nothing at all is most definitely an interesting approach to life. Whether other people, specifically women, who walked by him that day felt the same way about their agitation, is unclear. But, judging by the looks people gave him, he accomplished what he set out to do.
Perfect Strangers is our answer to all the strangers we see on a daily basis but never speak to. We believe that everyone has an interesting story or idea or something they want to share, all you need to do is ask. We approach strangers and ask them to “tell us something we wouldn’t have known if we didn’t talk to you today.” These are their stories.
